All websites should turn a profit, but most don’t because their owner simply doesn’t know what is possible and / or isn’t measuring what it is doing. The key to increasing the profitability of your website is two-fold; first, you’ve got to have a good strategy for how the website is going to increase your profits and secondly, you’ve got to track, measure, and dollarize your website results.
Outsourcing is the new and dominant wave of the business world. As businesses shed employees, they increasingly turn to independent contractors to supply what in-house staff used to do. One of the ways they do this is through virtual assistants. These are people who provide certain tasks online. Businesses can use virtual assistants as much or as little as they need to. If you can make yourself available to multiple businesses, you might have plenty of work without ever leaving your house.
Write about alternate choices. Never recommend a single product, always offer choice to the reader. Your site’s business is to inform your readers. Aigars writes about 20~50 themes in our collection roundups, it is to help provide choice and that’s for free themes. The choices provided should cover as wide a net as possible, when you expect your reader pay for a product.
While Etsy is fantastic for handmade goods that you’ve already created, if you’ve got killer designs that would look good on phone cases, t-shirts, or even wall hangings, pillows, and duvets, you can sell them on Society6 without paying anything to start. Society6 lets artists upload their designs and create their own shops where they choose what products their designs can be used on. That means one design can be used to make a whole range of awesome products that are printed and shipped on demand whenever someone buys from you. With top creators making thousands every month just from selling their designs.
If I have a blog that is getting 100,000 page views a month that means that I’m probably getting at least 50,000 people to the site (most blogs will do between 1.2 to 1.4 pages per session). That means I have to try and get some small percentage of those people to buy something from me if I really want to do well. If I can’t get them to buy something then (in some cases) I have ads running on the site that will make me money anyways.
That may be fine for other businesses, but my business is different. This is a dangerous line of thinking that holds people back, and it is something that I hear all the time. The fact is that all websites should be able to turn a profit for their owner. This doesn’t just apply to e-commerce websites; this applies equally well to websites for traditional businesses and even non-profits. Although the application of them may be different, the principles are all the same.
We all struggle to keep motivated, personally I’m at the point with my business where I don’t have any financial worries so it’s hard for me to find a reason to keep working because to be honest with you, I don’t. I do however because I’m motivated by success, you may be the same or you may not be making money yet and want to get to this point. With drop shipping, you’re effectively partnering with a manufacturer or wholesaler to sell their products. It’s one of the oldest and most proven ways to make money – buy low, sell high. The buy low part comes from searching garage sales, estate sales, and even thrift stores to find items that are in good condition (“gently used”) but selling well below what they would if they were brand-new. In this way, you might be able to acquire an item for $5, and later sell it for $50.
Really it’s an awesome list through which one can earn money in a quick time without doing any investment but a proper way is the first thing. Right on read, Robert. I am pretty well versed on the majority of methods you provide or touch on… however, the one I want to learn the most about “Content Locking” goes to an inactive link. My independent search isn’t doing much better. Is there something on the serious downside to this monetization method? Can you lead me to something that provides; pros, cons, and/or the how-tos of Content Locking?
