Money can come through or as a result of your website in a variety of ways, depending on your business.  For an online retailer this takes the form of online sales.  For a brick and mortar retail store, this takes the form of leads and interest that is generated online and results in an increasing in-store foot traffic. For a local service business, the attention and interest generated online should show up in the form of an increase in phone calls from interested prospective new clients.

If you’re looking for inspiration, my friend Michelle Schroeder-Gardner of the website Making Sense of Sense has become the expert on all things affiliate marketing. Prior to that group, they had an online community for teachers looking for lesson plans. That probably sounds pretty random, but it's crazy the type of communities you can build and rally people around. If it's something that you're passionate about yourself and you want to connect with others that have that same passion, then an online community is something you should definitely consider.
My suggestion for you would be to kill all your website and create a one large website. From there you will have much more time to write content and promote your website because now you spend countless hours on maintenance alone and that’s not efficient. Large websites are much better received by Google and it is going to be much easier to monetize your website.
There are quite literally hundreds of clever ways to make money online. From taking online surveys, to renting or selling your old clothes, flipping your iPhone to someone in a different country, and even buying low-cost products locally, just to resell them for a higher price on Amazon. There’s truly no shortage of unique ways to make money online.
YMCA Canandaigua is an organization that works to strengthen the community in Canandaigua, New York by offering a variety of Y programs to all regardless of age, income or background.  We partnered with them to design a nonprofit website to serve as a resource for those who live in Canandaigua. For an organization that relies heavily on their nonprofit website, we built them an easy-to-maintain and customized website that comes with, customized graphic design, high-quality security systems, and a SEO-compatible site.
Wow, this is the best list of monetization ideas I’ve seen thus far. Although making money online is possible, I’ve found that building sites for local products and services that have high profit margins works best for me because it’s oftentimes a lot less competitive than fighting the folks who are selling products online or trying to get hundreds of thousands of visitors to their site.
