I have met many businesses that most of their customers come from referrals, that is GREAT, except not always sustainable depending on industry. Most websites don’t make money.  Although it seems like everybody and his uncle has a website, very few of those sites are making any money for their owner.  Most sites are put up without a clear idea of how the site will make money.  For some, the idea that it should make money is revolutionary.  Hopefully this doesn’t seem revolutionary to you.  Most are simply unaware of how many different ways a website can be profitable.  Let’s take a look at how your website should be making money for you.

Squarespace & Wix are GREAT for just getting off the ground with your business, and could be a great way just to start but in the end you should be weary of the website you are dealt. You will be limited by their functionality and how they operate as a business. If the platform you chose goes bankrupt tomorrow, your whole website and all the content may be lost. With WordPress, specifically WordPress.org self-hosted CMS, you don’t have to worry about most of that.
The main thing is to think about your website as business and not some sort of “get rich quick scheme”. Find what readers low, build brand and you will easily monetize your traffic. The time has long passed since you could publish scrapped content, put some ads and make living out of it. Now you should be a website just like you would do with a real business.

Running and charging for webinars can be a great way to build a following in your niche, demonstrate that you are an expert in your field, and make a profit. Hosting a webinar can be hard work. They need to first be promoted, provide original and valuable information, and include interactive elements so your audience can ask questions and engage with your topic.
